-- glacier holobiont was a solo exhibition at STAGE Gallery in early 2025.
the show consisted of a listening tent containing a CD player which played one track, tundra harmonic; a video projection; wall-mounted documents; a small library; a torch-speaker playing a soundtrack of ambient music with glacier melt field recordings, and with which the dimly-lit space could be navigated; and a reading area with a table, chairs, and binders containing A PATCHY GLACIER HOLOBIONT GROUP ARCHIVE READER. the exhibition presents a fictional archive of remnants from an alternative group of future Arctic science-workers, dating from the years 2033-39.
the public programme accompanying this exhibition involved hosting a series of Ableton workshops for beginners and organising a fundraiser screening of films on Arctic science by Inuit communities.
an exhibition write up by Ava Cowperthwaite on the STAGE gallery website can be read here. thanks to Elizabeth Alster of STAGE Gallery for invitation, curation + support.
